The Bolton Family at Byrd Park

The days leading up to this photo session were a little unnerving. The forecast called for rain ALL weekend, and while there is always a back up plan we all wanted our original idea to work out. So when Bekah, Jeremy and their two girls pulled up and it was a beautiful fall morning I did a little happy dance.

The first thing I noticed about Bekah was her gorgeous smile, and then directly after that her sweet demeanor. Jeremy is just sweet as Bekah, giving off an air of calm confidence. When they told me that they had been up with two toddlers since 4:45 a.m. I couldn’t believe it! Even after a long morning these two were still so put together and seemed like they could take on the world! Which probably is easier than taking care of two kids 2 and under. I loved watching how patient they are with Selah and Myra and seeing their genuine interactions made this session a breeze!

My favorite thing about family sessions is getting to know the kids. Selah is so soft and gentle and was a little shy at first, but after a bit she started handing out high fives like nobody’s business. You can tell she is going to take after her parent’s kind and gentle traits. Myra is sweet and shy too, and you can totally tell she’s Daddy’s little girl. She was all about being close to him until she started to warm up a bit too. I love how confident and brave she is, and even though she’s the little sister I bet as she grows she’s going to protect Selah just as much as her big sister will protect her. There’s something so special about a sister’s bond and I hope that I will get another chance to see these sweet girls as they grow!

Now’s the part for favorites, which is always the hardest part. Thank you to the Bolton family for such a special session!
