There’s something I just love about horses. Powerful, yet gentle. Strong, yet calm. Maybe it’s because I have family that owns horses, or maybe it’s just some weird connection, but I’ve always felt so intrigued by these beautiful animals. So when Shannon reached out to me about a session with her children and her horse, April, I was definitely excited.

Little did I know photographing a horse is like having another toddler there. Shannon was beyond helpful trying to corral April, Bradley and Cora. She just emits a calm kind of confidence that is so refreshing and made the photo session run so smoothly. Bradley and Cora are so sweet too, and I just loved getting to know them. Cora was a little shy, but I love her sweet little serious face… we managed to coax a few smiles out of her, too! And Bradley was the perfect gentleman. He was so kind and gentle with April and Cora. We found a little frog friend as we were leaving. He looked to his mom for permission before he gently scooped Mr. Frog up into his hands. Whatever Shannon is doing with her kids, she’s doing it right because they are just the most amiable family I have photographed yet!
